Michael "Mike" Robert Day of Aurora, Colorado age 70 passed away on September 21, 2022, from diabetes. He was born on January 3, 1952, to William "Bill" and Dee Day in Shenandoah, Iowa.
His marriage to Margaret Candelaria resulted in two children Allison Day and William "Bill" Day.
Mike is survived by his children Allison Day and William "Bill" Day, his grandchildren Gavin, Ava and Tanner Grossnickle (Allison's kids) and Liam Day (Bill's son). His siblings Fran (Steve) Ault, Harriet (Donnie) Waters, and Kathy (Denny) Williamson. Brother-in-law Ron Sedwick. 3 nephews and 5 neices Curt (Paula) Ault, Amy (Mark) Schaefer, Kim (Brian) Dyer, Missy (Mark Douglass) White, Jenny Headings, Matt (Antonette) Hoff, Heather (Greg) Hicks, Josh (Kristen) Hoff. 15 great nephews, 7 great nieces and 3 great-great nephews and 3 great-great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents William 'Bill' and Dee Day, his sister Martha Sedwick, his grandparents Orpha and Gorman Howell and Harry and Eilene Day.
Mike loved his many dogs and cats he had especially his dog Sophia. He enjoyed playing golf and he played darts on a Dart League. Mike enjoyed watching sports, his love was the Denver Broncos! Go Broncos! Mike liked traveling in his RV to the warm states in the winter time.
He retired from Buckley Air Force as the Director of Environmental Safety and Health.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday October 1, 2022, at 6:00pm at Palomino Park at 6656 Greenriver Drive

Mike was an exceptional man. I remember an amazing experience we shared together with a German Shepard. Mr Day tickled that dog's pickle like no tomorrow. He was also hands-down the BEST prodigy to come out of of my famous bottom in training program.
